Thank you for all of this! I love seeing your sketchbooks and finished work and, today, your musings about the films you live touched me deeply. I too am drawn to films (and books!) that take me to the time of my grandparents in their youth and that for this reason feel like home to me. But I have never heard anyone else say this! So thank you for finding words for this particular experience of memory and love.

I adore the “gentle chaos.” Thank you so much for sharing. The boldness of the red garment is especially pleasing. I look forward to seeing more work in progress.

Another good one . . . of course. Thank you for recommending the films, glad the sobbing woman was finally soothed, and I hope your arm and shoulder are feeling better. I don't know if you can get it over there, but Arnica gel is very helpful for sore muscles.

Thank you Marilee, much appreciated. Yes we can get arnica creams and gels here. I must try it again and see if it helps. Have a good week

And I meant to say Arnica cream. I personally did not think the gel worked as good as the cream.

I am here for your artistry, your stories, and your bits and bobs. I look forward to seeing your sweet chaos and am thrilled to see one of your embroidery pieces unfinished! May I say that I love it in its unfinished glory? It has enough fabulous stitching to label it an embroidery, but also the blank canvas to give the mind and eye time to breathe and imagine. Thanks also for the film recommendations, my favorite British contemporary television show is The Detectorists, for its interesting story and wonderfully sweet characters.

As a maker and writer, I share your love of both images and words and look forward to your small stories. A friend in the US sent me your link so you have followers everywhere. Bravo for the way you helped the woman who fell. Friendly hands to lift her up must have been so welcome. I hope you feel strong again after helping her.

Looking forward to the gentle chaos of sketchbooks! And thank you for the film recommendations. My elderly father has been incapacitated, and I have been helping him stand all week - even while telling others that with my bad back (injured as a child), I am unable to lift him. Then hours later, the pain reminds me why I shouldn’t have.
