I love your posts so much! The idea of having many things to look forward to is the secret to a good life! At night I think about what the four most satisfying things I accomplished that day were, and in the morning I imagine four things that I am looking forward to doing. I don’t want the days to pass by without due reflection. It also feels more imaginative than the dreaded to-do list.
I so enjoy reading your studio notes and love your overheard conversations, especially as I often overhear interesting little snippets but don’t record them. Please keep recording them!
I’m getting ready to pull my electric machine out and rework a thrifted, spring green, linen shirt. Removing some flouncy trim, should be a fun project. Recently bought a non-electric machine, it weighs a lot. Once we move, it will get used.
The electric machine lives in a cardboard closet, the new machine has it’s own beautiful wooden (and iron) table and coffin-like cover. Interesting to think about who used it over the years.
I love reading your stories, I also love people watching, often can’t help listening to their conversations, but dislike mobile phones as we only hear half of the conversation. 😂 I think I should probably have been born in England as I love colder weather, it is unbearably hot here in Australia (Victoria).
Yes I enjoy receiving these notes so much as well. The overheard conversations are always a delight. I recently purchased one of your tiny paintings and am so in love with it, and inspired. I have dragged out my old painting supplies and made stabs at trying again. No successes yet, but I'm preserving:) Thank you for sharing your work and your thoughts. They are beams of joy and light in a rather dark time.
And the answer to the cryptic question -
what has a foot but no legs?
A snail!

My guess to “What has a foot?”, a sewing machine!

My guess was a ruler, but alas, I was wrong!
Yes I managed to number this one incorrectly! It should be no. 116. Apologies!
A ruler?
Love the stories - as always.
I always enjoy your notes so much
