Hello again,
It is a bright day in Early February. One of those oddities, we really don’t mind. Anything is better than cold and grey?
I am keeping these notes a little brief this week. Less chatty perhaps, as this seems to suit my mood at the moment.
A few recent sketchbook pages - exploring abstraction, collage and combinations of things.
My sketchbooks continue to be vital to me, in so much as they just help me think without thinking too hard. I hope this makes sense. I can be all the things I want to be: an abstract artist, a sketcher, a folk artist, a maker of contradictions and connections - and my voice is there on each page, but I am really talking to myself.
I have a YouTube channel, where I will be sharing more look-throughs of my books and more. There is very little to see right now. But you are welcome to look and subscribe.

Good news from earlier this week is my broken foot is now healing. To those of you following my foot saga, thank you for your kindness. To those just joining - I broke my foot last September and it has not been healing as one might hope. For some weeks there was really no change in the x-rays. This was a highly discouraging situation and it seemed likely I would need surgery. However, the latest x-ray shows much improvement - it is just about halfway healed. I will not be able to do any strenuous jumping (??) or running at all for at least six months. But I can start to go for gentle walks again, building up my stamina and being careful.
This whole foot saga has contributed to a bumpy start to the year. My mental health needs a bit of quiet and calm for a while. But I hope to continue to write here each week.

Thanks to everyone who has purchased from my shop recently, very much appreciated. I have had a good start to my spring lucky dip season. There will be no shop update this week coming, as I am busy painting lucky dips and working on other projects. You are of course welcome to order/purchase from my shop at any time- there are a few things available at the moment - and both winter and spring lucky dip paintings.
I am also pleased to say that I can now send out my international orders - starting with the backlog of packages that I have kept safely over the past few weeks. I appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience. International orders are now going out, in small groups, and I hope to have cleared my backlog in the next week. I will be keeping a very keen eye on how things are moving. Anyone waiting, you will get an email just as soon as your package is on its way. Thank you. Please allow extra time for your package to get to you.

Thanks always for reading here. I do hope you enjoy receiving these notes and I am grateful to everyone who emails, leaves comments and likes the post. Please make sure to be reading next week as I will be having a give away for subscribers. If you would like to support my writing and sharing you are welcome to buy me a coffee - it really helps out!
This is very good news about your bones healing in that stubborn foot of yours. i’m sure that by early spring, you will be outside enjoying confident strolls to see the signs of new growth - little green shoots, the tiniest buds on trees. more birds will return and fill the air with the chatter of their talks and songs. and your foot will have had new growth as well, so it seems quite timely for you and the earth to be moving along in sync. i’ve felt that about you all along, as you continually tap in to the beautiful things that inspire you - and then in turn inspire us. Happy healing!!! xox
I’m so pleased to hear you are finally healing and don’t need an operation, hopefully the weather will be clément and you will enjoy getting out to seek the first signs of spring.
