They like the peanut feeders, the greater spotted, especially now the magpies have wreaked it and it’s easy to get whole peanuts out. Hope the foot feels better soon xx

First time I have ever seen one in our garden at this time of year. Have never had much success with peanut feeders, the birds here seem to prefer the finer seed. Thank you! x

Dear Cathy, So happy to hear that your recovery views include such interesting visitors. Always appreciate reading about your thoughts and process, and grateful for the introduction to Sarah Spackman's work. Your newsletters are a highlight of each week. Often, it's midweek before they are read, because I must be alone in the house, with no distractions or pressing to-do lists, and calm... and then they are thoroughly enjoyed and savored, always feeling like a long letter from a dear old friend, leaving me wishing that you lived down the road so that we could share a cup of tea now and then. Many thanks and hoping that you'll be back wandering in your woods soon.

P.S. Your lovely small painting has arrived, and it is wonderful. Like your writing, your paintings are transporting- taking me to charming, comfy, and dreamy places.

Dear Cathy, thank you for the wonderful studio notes. I look forward to it every Sunday. I too am saddened by the untimely death of Hilary Mantel. I loved her books but I don't know your favorite one.

I think I'll catch up on it very quickly and read it.

Cathy, your little work of art reached me yesterday. It's just beautiful and I love the little additions so very much. Thank you for that and have a nice Sunday...Trudy

I’m glad you are managing to work and hope that you are soon on the mend. I was terribly sad about Hilary Mantel’s death, Beyond Black was the first of hers that I read, I was immediately a fan and so it holds a special place in my bookish heart. I absolutely adore your acorns, I love oak trees, oak leaves, acorns all such pleasing shapes and colours. Unfortunately I don’t have any near me, there must be some but none local. Actually I’ve just looked up a map that shows trees in Edinburgh and there quite a few in my local park, I must go and look for them, I wonder how I’ve never noticed them before. I hope you have a good/better coming week.

Thank you always for your thoughtful responses Gillian. I hope you may get to enjoy the oaks of Edinburgh!

Sorry about your foot 🧡 I too fell down some stairs, at my daughters house in the middle of the night, 2 years ago - nothing broken, but badly sprained both ankles - worst was having to poop in a bucket as I couldn’t get up the main stairs to the loo!

Loving your tiny paintings, thanks. Hope the woodpecker returns for a leisurely visit soon 🤞

Thank you Liz. Oh my goodness, I don't like the idea of your makeshift loo bucket! Both ankles is not good!

Thank you Marcella, that is interesting to know how you came across my work.

Re: being a neurodiverse family - my son was diagnosed autistic at the age of three. My daughter and I do not have any formal diagnosis but certainly know we have certain traits that make us a little different - on the spectrum of autism in some ways. Hope that helps.
