photo: New Year’s Eve morning at home
Hello Everyone, I hope you have been well during this festive season. These short days have gone by quickly and I am looking forward to spending a few more quiet days with my family as we see in the new year. Not quite sure how quiet it will be - I am sure we will get to hear a few revellers cheering in the new year. It has been such an interesting, happy Christmas, our first in town and hopefully only the first of several.
photo: a hand embroidered little cushion I made during this festive period. If you follow my personal account over on Instagram you may have seen this already - I have been sharing photos over there more recently (@phaedraspoon) I made this for our home and am itching to start another, but have several hand stitch projects on the go at the moment. It’s always the way during Christmas time - I have a little time to make a few things for myself, love to keep my hands busy, end up with lots of started bits and bobs that will get completed - eventually!
I am keeping this week’s notes brief and will return next week with more photos of sketchbooks, new work and of course small stories. I wanted to thank you especially for your encouragement this year, your generous comments and for helping through a pretty anxious time. Your kindness is so very much appreciated.
It really does make me happy to know so many of you enjoy reading these notes and my small stories. It really does mean so much to me to know you enjoy my stories as, after all these years of being a full time artist, I still feel I am, at heart, a writer and storyteller.
Thank you to everyone who visited my shop over this past year. Thank you for your interest and support. My next update will be next Sunday 7th January at 7pm UK time - a selection of new tiny paintings for the new year. I am working toward new embroidery pieces and they will be available some time in January.
Thank you and may I wish you a very happy, healthy, gentle and kind new year ahead.
Best Wishes
Cathy
Oh yes! And I finally made a video of a recently completed small artist book: A Book of Winter no.1 - hope you might enjoy this.
With a warmest possible wish for you to enjoy a happy 2024 with abundant pleasures.
Your works - writing, stitches, painting and your talent above all give me great satisfaction with my
Heart smiling.
From a friend, and thought of you:
Just rejoice in the moments as and when they come and be thankful for it.
Be thankful for every second you live.
Be thankful for the beauty you are witnessing.
Be thankful for the strength you can feel now.
Let go of your mind from trying to control any of these ..
