Congratulations on feeling up to stitching again! I need to get my machine out again too, as it gets put away before Thanksgiving in November so I have room for having everyone here. Hand stitching happened over winter, but I’m feeling the itch to draw with machine stitch. I am fortunate enough to have grabbed a brooch of yours, but hope to catch a larger piece or collage piece soon! Time zones mean I set the alarm, but everyone is still so fast at getting my favorites! Take care.

Cathy ..Thank you so much for easing me into my Sunday morning with such lovely visuals created by your words. The circular aspect of your work is appealing -and definitely enters into my mindset often about my own unpredictable process . There is something meditative about the way you describe your gentle stitching time. I am keen to try a weekend sketchbook challenge!

A warm breeze visited me this morning , dancing lightly with a grey drizzle partner.

Oh!

I just realized the breeze was Cathy’s latest studio note’s words,

visiting me with that pleasant feeling of moments

in her day.

Lovely!

So glad you've been able to stitch with your machine again. I can only imagine what a relief it must be! And it's wonderful as a viewer to be introduced to these black and white figures emerging from the fabric. I'd also be interested in joining in if you decide to go ahead with a weekend sketchbook challenge. All the best, Julia

Finding great joy in reading your words. Your work has been a fuel for wonder and imagination for many years now and it's so comforting to always be able to recognize it. Its poetic nature adds so much beauty to my day whenever I come upon it. Looking forward to more news on the sketchbook challenge :)

I so enjoyed reading your musings, I particularly liked your Bus Journey adventures🧡 I have to admit I have a real love for public transport 💛 you never know who you will meet or what theatricality will unfold before your eyes , one of my favourite encounters was with an 87 year old women who had taken over the care of her 15 year old grandson 😮😮😮 so that he could complete his education, her daughter was somewhat irresponsible, she had engaged his older brother who she had also taken care of to support her. He was now about 22 years old but he was going to take over care in the event that anything happened to her, she was caring for him upon her meagre pension x was struggling financially, I tried to encourage her to seek assistance from social services but she was afraid that they would take her grand child into care, no amount of reassurance would make her change her mind. Her elder grandson was living independently and working in two low paid jobs every extra bit of money he acquired was given to her to help, her daughter had sailed off into the great blue beyond with a new man who she prioritised over her son, she did not financially support her son at all, she kept his Child Benefit for herself. It surprises me that her young sons school did not alert social services about this situation to provide the family with extra support 🤔Unfortunately I never saw this amazing women ever again but I often think about her x her family but I do regard her as an incredible astounding unseen Sheroe ❤️

Enjoyed reading about the relationship between you and your sewing machine. It would be wonderful to see a video of you in action. I just can't wrap my head around how you do this? It's all I can do to stitch a straight line on a machine. Looking forward to hearing more about the sketchbook challenge. As always, thank you, Cathy, and take care.
