Letting a friend believe something they believe to be magical seems rather magical in its own right ✨I always enjoy seeing what you are making, the sculptures are fascinating
goodness. I often forget about what I’ve subscribed to, until out of curiosity, instead of deleting an e-mail, I open it. I’m feeling especially lucky today, as if I’ve just found a penny on the street, or better yet like my cousin did while we were walking together as 12 yr olds, a green Andrew Jackson twenty ! I’m smitten. Thank you for the yellowed brittle pages, and the broken biscuits, and the clunky ghosted sculpture. And all the ball ladies, what my small daughters called them when they drew fancy dressed up women. You. Are. Wonderful. I’m gonna just say it, I love you.
Thank you Elizabeth for such a wonderful comment that really cheered me! And made me also giddy with ideas of ballgowns and general fancy notions. I am grateful to you and wish you a good week
On this rainy Sunday, your writing brings me smiles as I sip my quiet morning coffee. I noticed that little chair sitting on one of your ladies' hands in your postcard painting - I wonder who would be so small to sit on that chair? Also, on the topic of second hand books, my daughter and I were out yesterday visiting vintage and second hand shops, she can't stand the musty dusty smell of old books and leaves me to it! She likes curated clean smelling shops lol
Nora, I can understand re smells - the smell of new books gives me a bit of a headache! Must be the solvent in the binding or something. Anyway, thank for your lovely comment and hope you have a good week
Thank you for your wonderful creative output … it’s so refreshing… particularly to witness your sculptures in their evolutionary phase. Going for perfection always hinders creativity I think as a fellow artist. Your story of the Broken Biscuits Factory brought back a vivid memory of when I was a child browsing in the wonderful Woolworths Shop and buying a bag of broken biscuits with my little pocket money. Thank you for bringing back this memory!
Thank you Michelle, I am glad others have a memory/understanding of the broken biscuits - they really do feel like something from a distant past! Have a good week ahead
