The blue flower is a Speedwell I think...Germander Speedwell perhaps...such a beautiful blue; and the poppies do look like the orange variety of Welsh Poppy.

I'm so glad you had a few days of quiet, and how you spent your time sounds perfect. Quiet is essential for my mental wellbeing. Living on the road, with everyone around us travelling at high speed makes it hard to achieve, but we do find pockets of peace here and there which we are so grateful for.

I LOVE your poems, and the progress you share of your art pages, and your book pages sculptures.

May your week be as quiet as you wish it to be. xx

Thanks so much for your helpful and thoughtful comment Helen. Ah speedwell - yes I think so, thank you. I can imagine how travelling also requires periods of stillness. I used to think my life had got quieter but then, when I really experienced quiet, my opinion on that changed. I really do need more space for quiet.

I love your poems here. The bat one is so delicate in its imagery. I always loved Bat by DH Lawrence too but not its ending. We used to have bats in the roofspace in my childhood home. My sister and I rescued a mother and baby once. I always enjoyed hearing about your process and how the pictures evolve themselves and point the way for you. It’s also interesting to hear you talk about energy levels and the benefits of silence. It’s the most healing xx

Thank you Pauline, it means a lot to me that there are people out there who enjoy what I write. I must re-read the Lawrence poem. I enjoy his poetry maybe more than novels. How wonderful to be bat rescuers - you and your sister, that’s a special experience. I am hoping for the opportunity to embrace quiet more in the future xx

Yes, Cathy, we need the quiet to regulate ourselves. Thanks for your lovely message xx

I actually saw the girl forming before reading your comment. Feeling pretty smug about that. Love the tiny painting and the papier mache projects. Heck! I love everything you do.

Thank you Marilee! I appreciate your great comment. It cheers me on as I start my week

Welcome back, Cathy! I appreciate your advice regarding silence and quiet, it sounds (ha) heavenly. I have never seen bats in the wild!💕

Thank you Sheila. Never seen a bat flying about at night by your home or anywhere? We have many here in the south of England during the warmer months. But I have never spied them so close to home before, usually on evening walks. In some ways living in the heart of a small historical town is showing me more wildlife than it did in suburbia

I have serious bat envy! 🥰

Thank you for once again brightening my Sunday morning as I recover from a nasty flu (quiet time of another kind, not so fun). I love your tiny painting and the lady with the yellow legs, when I was in my twenties I had a pair of Gap pale yellow jeans. I loved them!

Thank you Nora for your kind comment but oh I do hope you feel much better soon. Please have a good week ahead

As a Californian, I would call them Iceland poppies, and they are gorgeous. I love riotous wildflowers.

Thank you Kim - why did I not think of Iceland? You can tell I am not a poppy expert.
